Amenities help foster a sense of community, and give residents something to do in our beautiful city. That being said, we are thrilled to introduce the newly added Basketball Court attached to Gabbard Riverfront Park for children and adults alike to play and have a good time.

Though a simple court, it has been widely used over the past few months. The City Manager was approached by local children here in Aurora and asked, “where can we play some basketball, or any other game, without having to cross 50? Our parents won’t let us travel that far.” After review of what the downtown has to offer in the sense of amenities, action was taken.

This court was graciously funded by the Southeastern Indiana Board of REALTORS, and for that, we thank you!

Finally, a look into the future! In the coming months, construction will begin off of Moore St. to turn what was once a skate park, into three pickleball courts! More to come in a future post.
