Snow & Ice Removal &
City Sidewalks
To ensure that the new and existing sidewalks remain in good condition it is recommended to use Magnesium Chloride, which is the newest deicing salt. It continues to melt snow and ice until the temperature reaches -13 F. The salt releases 40% less chloride into the environment than either rock salt or calcium chloride and is far less damaging to concrete sidewalks and plants.
Please DO NOT Use Rock Salt. Thank you for your assistance. For more info please call Aurora Street Department 812-926-5403.
